Shri Akbarbhai Chavda is pioneer founder of Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali, Freedom Fighter, Inmate of Mahatma Gandhiji, Commenced the job in Police Department. At that time the freedom movement was in full swing. Protesters fired batons. Akbarbhai did not tolerate this oppression, left his job and taking refuge in Gandhiji. He became a freedom fighter. He became a victim of Marzud in the movement and went to jail. He was an important contributor to the movement in various parts of the country.
He seen miserable condition of the tribal’s while roaming in the tribal area of Danta taluka in 1948-49. If there was zero literacy here, then there was hunting – fruit – labor to make a living. He turned to the people and he started to help. He started school in his own hut with five tribal children. His wife, Johraben, worked to save the children and increased contact with their families and villagers. In 1952, Akbarbhai were elected as Member of Parliament of the Banaskantha district.
He went to Delhi, but kept in touch with Sanali. Started Ayurvedic clinic in Sanali which began to pay adequate attention to the health of the tribal and the backward classes. Government approves 1952 Sarvodaya Yojana. Work started in the fields of education, agriculture, village industry, health. Starting primary school in 1952 in Sanali and also started schools in some villages in the taluka. Education is a basic requirement for the overall upliftment of any nation.
Sushilaben came to Palanpur after learning the virtues of religious, cultural and social service from her Motherland Patan. For everyone in his large family, Bhabhi was a great woman who was constantly working under the pseudonym. Sushilaben and Ramanikbhai – Bapuji were like two sides of a coin. Sushilaben’s views must be agreed upon if any service is to be done. Sushilaben was the foundation of the Rajmani Trust. Sushilaben handled the entire distribution of uniforms and also check children’s education herself. He liked Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali’s activities.
He helped the organization financially by accepting the trusteeship of the organization.
They often used to come at the Sanali ashram, stay the night, and sing hymns. She loved to give religious instruction to children. The prayer of both husband and wife was that God would do good deeds from them hands. I will not let anyone sleep hungry before until I am here, that was her spirit and dedication.
We can serve the disabled, orphans, destitute and needy for life. She has been worried about Sanali since she arrived. As the President of the Institute, he has visited the Institute frequently and has been aware of the activities of the Institute. Also, the grand celebration of Amrit Mahotsav was held in Mumbai and Sanali.
When he was studying in the school, at that time the freedom movement was in full swing. He was serving the dreams of independence of the country. The youth wanted our independence to be the basis of the country’s progress. Mr. Chhotubhai passed the matriculation examination and joined his hometown’s highschool as a drawing teacher. He was working as a teacher but he was dreaming of Social service activities. He left his job in 1955 and came to work in a completely unknown, deep forest area. He was very much influenced by the activities of Jugatram Dada during his studies.
That is why he came to Sanali on a two-day journey after facing many difficulties. Sanali was to live a communal life. All the workers had to dine in the same kitchen. There were native pipes on the mud-roofed building. There were buildings without doors. The tribal huts had no doors.
Shri Chhotubhai had a special responsibility in the struggle of Sarvodaya activists to eradicate ignorance, superstition, doubt and curiosity among the tribal. He used to visit different villages on foot every day. In other activities of Sarvodaya Yojana also Chhotubhai used to go to deep villages to give continuous guidance. Farmers were taught to cultivate with a modern technology.
He established services like co-operative societies in Sanali, Sandhosi, Dalpura, Dhrangivas. So the workers set up consumer stores so that they do not have to go to Ambaji-Khedbrahma to buy goods. Mr. Chhotubhai has been instrumental in starting a secondary school in Sanali. There have been constant efforts to remove the financial burden of the organization. Carrying the responsibility, he has been a khadidhari all his life. His wife Lakshmiben has also gained popularity by staying in Sanali and doing public service along with her job. The organization has suffered a great loss since its demise on 30/05/2003.
Ramaniklal Mehta’s native is Palanpur in Banaskantha Distrist. In early age, he went to Mumbai with his uncle. At the age of 9, in the Dakshinamurti Institute of Bhavnagar, in the aegis of Shri Gijubhai Badheka, life was changed. Labor cleansing, public service, creative program, non-violence, brought the principles of humanity to life. Matriculated and joined the diamond business. He took the rest of his education in Mumbai. He was interested in cricket from an early age. His eldest son Arunbhai and middle son Harshadbhai also joined the diamond business. From his childhood he was interested in public service, social, religious and health activities.
That is why Rajmal Rikhavchand Mehta formed a charitable trust and started service activities. In the activity of distributing uniforms for the children studying in the backward villages of Banaskantha district, When he came to Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali and spent the night in the institute and seeing the enthusiasm and work of the institute and the workers working in it, he started donating to complete the building of the hostel. He then became the trustee of the organization and through him the organization started receiving donations from donors.
Older houses began to take on nine forms. Akbarbhai was the founder of the institute while Ramanikbhai became the promoter of the institute. He was constantly on the lookout for small and large needs of the organization. Shri Ramanikbhai was known to all as Bapuji. He really became Bapuji of the institute’s complex. His sincerity, fearlessness and devotion are truly praised. His demise has taken a heavy trauma on the organization.
Dr. Harshadbhai is a very talented person. His scope of work is vast. He is the third of three brothers. He is considered to be an intelligent, powerful and special person. Many people trust their exceptional management skills. He was born on 15/08/1947, the day India gained independence. Harshadbhai is a generous person who follows his parents. He has a deep interest in human service. His contribution is also special in those religious functions. He has unique contribution to the development of educational institutions.
Shri Harshadbhai has his huge contibution in many trusts. Harshadbhai often says that his father’s virtues have descended in him. He knows mother’s tenderness and firmness very well. He fully adheres to the lessons of truth given by the mother. Mr. Harshadbhai is a good cricketer. He has a unique contribution to make in strengthening the district cricket team. His Ba – Bapuji had a lot of feelings towards Sanali.
He was interested in its development, so he joined the Sanali Trust and took up his responsibility. Be aware of small and big activities in the organization. Despite the physical progress of the institution, every child has the spirit of getting a higher level of education.
The state of Gujarat was established in 1960. Dr. Shantilal Swaruchand Shah was selected as a minister in first government. Shantilal Swaruchand Shah became Deputy Revenue Minister in the Government of Shri Hitendrabhai in 1967. He was instrumental in the utilitarian reform of the revenue law. Has served as MLA of Tharad, Deodar, Kankraj, and Deesa Division. He was the founding chairman of Banaskantha District Central Cooperative Bank and Deesa Citizen Cooperative Bank.
He was the first President of the first president of Banaskantha District Panchayat in 1962, Inspiration of Deesa’s New Market Yard and his naming on Market Yard,. There are noble services from him in the field of education.
He was also the Founder Trustee of Sardar Patel College, Financial Contribution to Education, Sarvodaya Ashram, Founder Trustee of Sanali, Lokniketan Ratanpur. He has been a major contributor to charitable organizations. So he has given noble service in cooperatives. The person who contributed body-mind-money to the Social service organizations till the end.
Mrs. Nayanaben has studied Inter Arts. After Bapuji’s death, Nayanaben became the President of Sarvodaya Ashram. She took a keen interest in accelerating the activities of the organization.
Following Ba-Bapuji, she has given attention to the needs of the organization. At present, as a trustee, she is aware of the educational and co-curricular activities of Sarvodaya Ashram and gives guidance.
The aspect of religion is strong in the life of Mrs. Nayanaben. She has done penance like Varshinay. This couple is unmatched in doing good deeds. She is always ready for the welfare of the communities.
Shri Bandhabhai was a tribal. At the age of 7 Years, Shri Akbarbhai brought him to Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali. He literate him and he continued his services as a Sarvodaya worker. His hometown was Chokibor, a village without roads between the hills. Bandhubhai has been contributing in every Social service activities of the Sarvodaya ashram. He was a very hardworking and kind man and was fearless also.
His tribal brothers stayed away from alcohol, smoking and tobacco addiction and he was repeatedly explained. Sometimes he had to endure the opposition of his own tribal brothers.
He has been a lifelong trustee in the formation of Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali Trust in the year 1962. Despite being offered a government job, he resigned and served as a Sarvodaya activist for life. He passed away on 10/10/2004.
He grew up in the company of Shri Ravishankar Dada from his childhood. After studying in the village school, he graduated from Gujarat University. Here he got complete knowledge of Social Service activities, stayed at Gujarat Vidyapeeth and became fully acquainted with Sarvodaya and Swarajya movement. Social Services was his life goal. Manubhai started serving in Bhabhar village in Mahadevbhai Desai Trust. Shri Manubhai was studied in Gujarat University, so he was aware of all the public works.
He became popular by doing Social Service activities in the block, ran the Congress offices, giving medicine to the patients and also gaining knowledge in political matters. Shri Akbarbhai was elected to the Lok Sabha, so he frequently ran the affairs of Delhi and the state. That is why Manubhai started working as the administrator of Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali after 19.
The Mumbai government had approved the Sarvodaya scheme in Sanali. That is why Manubhai started cooperative activities with education and health. Agriculture – Animal Husbandry, Village Industries activities started in a special way. He has been instrumental in reaching the villages. He went to live in Palanpur in 1965. He had performed excellent services as the Chairman of the District Education Committee. He has been serving Khadidhari all his life. He died of a heart attack on 10/10/1973.
He was interested in social services and creative activities from the time of his studies. Joined Ambaji High School in 1963. Then after he started a Secondary School run by Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali in 1967 and provided exceptional educational services till his retirement in 2001, worked academically for 38 years.
He took a keen interest in social reform among the tribes along with educational services. Conducted girls education campaign, worked in adult education and did a good job of cultivating sacraments in children. For his outstanding work in the field of education, the school was awarded the Best School Award in the 1988, the Best Teacher award at the state level in the 1995 and the Best Teacher award from the Government of India in 2001.
He donated his award money to the organization in the Students Scholarship Fund. Also he has done an excellent job as the chairman of Sarvodaya Dhiran Mandali. He has been constantly cooperating and working in the activities carried out by the organization. He has researched and edited seven books on tribal folklore. And currently working in 12 organizations on various positions in Social, Creative, Educational institutions. Today he is active as a trustee in Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali.
He entered the diamond market and established B. Vijaykumar & Co. Received the first National Trophy due to his efficiency in the field of diamonds. Huge amount of housing in the name of Shanti builders.
Being a native of Palanpur, He has generously contributed in educational institutions, social institutions, hospitals, sub-ashrams, derasaro, medical colleges.
He has donated in memory of his father Shantilal Lallubhai Shah Boys Hostel and Mrs. Bhikhiben Shantilal Shah Guest House in memory of his mother at Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali and Continues to help the organization financially.
Maheshbhai Bhanshali’s native is Deesa in Banaskantha District. He holds Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Degree. Mr. Bhansali works noblely as the administrator of the Bhanshali trust and, managing Deesa’s Gandhi – Lincoln Hospital very well.
He manages the secondary and higher secondary schools and hostels. Maheshbhai associated with a number of trusts. Mr. Maheshbhai is a very generous, service-minded and good worker. Currently He is serving as a administrator of Sarvodaya Ashram Sanali Trust.
Mrs. Rupaben’s native is Ambaji. She is knowledgeable of the Social service activities of the organization. She donates to the educational, social and health related services. She has donated widely to build Shri B. D. Mehta Arasuri Kanya Vidyalaya in Ambaji. She has an active interest in management.
She has donated to Sarvodaya Ashram. She has built a Multi-religious temple (Sarva Dharma Prarthana Mandir) in Sanali Ashram premises. She occasionally provides financial support to the Ashram’s various social-constructive programs.
Lallubhai’s native is Mandali situated at a distance of one kilometer from Sanali Ashram. Primary education was taken at Sarvodaya Ashram, Sanali. After matriculation, he completed his education in Mumbai and retired after serving for many years as a principal at Vidya Mandir’s Mamta Mandir.
He provided guidance in the inclusive education for students with disabilities run by the institute. An organization operates in Ambaji. He continues to serve as the trustee of the organization.
Shri Jayantibhai also came out as an ideal farmer. He rendered noble services as the President of Banaskantha Khedut Mandal. Achieved success by fighting for farmers’ electricity issues. His noble services as the Chairman of BK District Central Cooperative Bank are well known in the history of the co-operative sector.
As Chairman of Kankrej Taluka Co-operative Purchase-Sales Association, as Chairman of District Co-operative Purchase and Sales Association, as Chairman of Gujcomasol, Chairman of Kribhako, IFFCO and NAFED have rendered excellent services. Serves as Director, Gujarat State Co-operative Bank and Surat District Government Bank. Shri J.V. Shah has done a noble job in the field of education as the Chairman of the Education Committee.
He has made a significant contribution in the development of the district by serving as the MLA of the 19th Congress Department, then as the Member of the Lok Sabha of the district and for some time as the Minister of State for Agricultural Co-operation of the Government of India. Sarvodaya Ashram, as the trustee and administrator of Sanali, has been instrumental in helping him to improve and guide the financial condition of the organization. He died in a car accident on 19.10.18, causing huge losses to the organization.
His native is Ambaji village in Danta taluka. He obtained a Civil Engineering degree and a Master’s degree in structural engineering from the United States. His father Nagarmal was a social-constructive worker. He has served the poor and backward classes. The virtues of father’s social service have descended in Shri Shyambhai. Sarvodaya was imbued with ideology from his student days.
He is a good Rotarian employed at City Rotary but has a special interest in serving poor and backward tribes. Also he is serving as trustee of the well-known Mavjat hospital, Palanpur which serves a noble cause of health. Has served as a trustee for the last three and a half decades. His constant guidance is found in all the innovative construction as well as repair work in the organization. Noble service as co-administrator for the last five years.
Shri Dhruv Nanalal Shah started working in his family business after finishing his graduation in commerce. Seed of Spiritualism is growing in his mind as virtues of Jainism like Non-Violence and Abstinence are ingrained in his nature because of family upbringing. He is attracted by preachings of Gurudev Shri Rakesh Jhaveri and became disciple of Shri Rajchandra Mission Dharampur. He had left his family business and started looking after philanthropic and CSR activities of Rosy Blue Group. At present he is associated with philanthropic activities of Rosy Blue Foundation and Rajmal Rikhavchand Mehta Charitable Trust and various other trusts.
